  • Welcome to Nauru

Once again, Nauru has become a temporary home to hundreds of people seeking a new life in Australia. While the decision to send asylum seekers to the South Pacific island is in dispute locals hope it will provide a lifeline to the country. Nauru is just 21 square kilometres, and has a population of fewer than 10 thousand people. SBS correspondent Jeannette Francis travelled to Nauru to find that many local business owners believe the tiny economy will be revived by the influx of people.
